Editorial board members perform an important role in the scholarly communication process. We request that editorial board members perform the following tasks:
Peer review
Occasionally editorial board members will be asked to complete a peer review report on a specified paper. Requests may be declined if the member is too busy to complete the review before the specified deadline. The frequency of requests is dependent on the rate submissions are received relative to the size of the editorial board.
Contributing papers
We welcome papers contributed by editorial board members. APF discounts are generally available but must be applied for prior to submission to ensure availability. We cannot guarantee availability where discounts are not requested in advance.
Journal ambassadors
Editorial board members are ambassadors for the journal and should support and promote it.
Consulting
Editorial board members may occasionally be consulted on questions relating both to specific papers and the journal's field.
Apply to Join an Editorial Board
Applications are welcomed from individuals who are able to demonstrate a minimum of five years experience as a post-doctoral researcher, peer reviewer and author of published peer reviewed scholarly articles.
Applications that meet these minimum criteria will be referred to the editor in chief for evaluation. The editor in chief may apply additional criteria at his or her discretion. The editor in chief has final discretion over appointments.
Applications must include suitable supporting documentation. A curriculum vitae or NIH biosketch will generally be sufficient. All documentation must be in English in a commonly-used file format.
Successful applicants will be notified by the publisher. Decisions generally take one to two months.

What Your Colleagues Say AboutLibertas Academica
Publishing in Clinical Medicine Reviews in Vascular Health was a pleasant experience. The process was fast and fair. The staff were very professional and we were well informed of the progress of the manuscript.

All authors are surveyed after their articles are published. Authors are asked to rate their experience in a variety of areas, and their responses help us to monitor our performance. Presented here are their responses in some key areas. No 'poor' or 'very poor' responses were received; these are represented in the 'other' category.
