Libertas welcomes new open access journal proposals.  To propose a concept contact the CEO with an outline of your proposal.

Libertas will consider any proposal within the broad scope of science and medicine.

Libertas considers various factors when determining whether to launch a journal proposal including:

  • Fit with other Libertas journals

  • Over-lap with existing journals: we are most interested in new or novel areas

  • Scientific validity, future prospects and scale of the subject area

Libertas will not enter into an arrangement that potentially compromises editorial independence and objectivity.  Libertas maintains a distinction between business decisions and editorial decisions.  We do not accept advertising in journals or sponsored articles and all articles must fully disclose authorship and contributorship.

An individual proposing a new journal can apply to be Editor in Chief or an editorial board member.  A memorandum of understanding will be agreed to where the individual will acknowledge that the journal title is the sole property of Libertas and that articles, metadata and supplementary files are the sole property of their authors.

The individual proposing a new journal will be responsible for drafting an aims and scope, recruitment of an editorial board and identification of 30 topics for initial submissions.  In recruiting an editorial board the individual must not send bulk unsolicited email invitations.

Libertas will be responsible for, among other tasks, setup of the journal website and creation and management of a marketing strategy, including applying for external indexing as appropriate.  A standard blind peer review editorial system will be provided.

Our Service Promise

  • Prompt Processing (3 Weeks to Editorial Decision)
  • Fair, Independent Peer Review
  • High Visibility & Extensive Indexing

All authors are surveyed after their articles are published. Authors are asked to rate their experience in a variety of areas, and their responses help us to monitor our performance. Presented here are their responses in some key areas. No 'poor' or 'very poor' responses were received; these are represented in the 'other' category.
