Retrovirology: Research and Treatment call for papers from Dr Carey Farquhar

I am writing to you in my capacity as the Editor-in-Chief of Retrovirology: Research and Treatment, an international, open access, peer reviewed journal which is currently accepting manuscripts on all aspects of HIV, HTLV, and other human and animal retroviruses.

The journal is fortunate to have a highly-qualified Editorial Board with global perspective and a wide range of expertise. This makes it possible for us to consider original papers and reviews in retrovirology across multiple scientific disciplines, including epidemiology, basic science, clinical, and behavioral research. The editorial board can be viewed here.

Furthermore, this newly launched electronic journal provides open access to readers throughout the world, allowing individuals to access published manuscripts online at no cost.

On behalf of the Editorial Board, I appreciate your considering Retrovirology: Research and Treatment as a journal for submission of your next paper and look forward to seeing your contributions in the near future.

What is the advantage to you of publishing in Retrovirology: Research and Treatment?

  • Full open access: everyone can read your article and you retain copyright in it

  • Publishing decision within 2 weeks of submission

  • Your paper will not be rejected due to lack of space and will be published immediately on acceptance

  • Prompt and fair peer review from two expert peer reviewers

  • Frequent updates on your paper’s status

  • Friendly responsive staff

What a previous author said:

"The publishing process of this journal was a most pleasant and productive experience. I was particularly impressed with the regular updates of the progress of my submission. Many other journals receive a submission and authors may not hear anything for months. I appreciate your notification policy."

In summary:

The advantages of a younger journal such as Retrovirology: Research and Treatment are numerous but in essence allow us a greater flexibility and responsiveness to authors and readers that older journals cannot match.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Carey Farquhar
