Human Parasitic Diseases call for papers from Dr Ashley Croft
General call for papers (scroll down for 2010 special issue)
Dear colleagues,
This is a call for papers for Human Parasitic Diseases – a recently-established, peer-reviewed open access journal published by Libertas Academica. This important and exciting new has already attracted manuscripts of very high scientific quality. This is because Human Parasitic Diseases offers, and continues to offer, rigorous, fair and prompt standards of peer review. My policy as Editor-in-Chief is that anyone can contribute, and not only those in major institutions.
Open access means that all articles are freely available to all, worldwide, and at no cost to the reader. All articles published in Human Parasitic Diseases become available immediately to researchers worldwide, through electronic databases. Authors however retain copyright of their work. The advantages of open-access publication are ineluctable. I urge you to submit your article or articles now.
What is the advantage to you of publishing in Human Parasitic Diseases?
- Full open access: everyone can read your article and you retain copyright in it
- Publishing decision within 2 weeks of submission
- Your paper will not be rejected due to lack of space and will be published immediately on acceptance
- Prompt and fair peer review from two expert peer reviewers
- Frequent updates on your paper’s status
- Friendly responsive staff
Human Parasitic Diseases is a journal that publishes papers on parasitic diseases in humans.
What a previous author said:
"The communication between your staff and me has been terrific. Whenever progress is made with the manuscript, I receive notice. Quite honestly, I've never had such complete communication with a journal."In summary:
The advantages of a younger journal such as Human Parasitic Diseases are numerous but in essence allow us a greater flexibility and responsiveness to authors and readers that older journals cannot match.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Ashley Croft

2010 special issue call for papers
Dear colleagues,
I invite you to submit a paper to the forthcoming special issue of Human Parasitic Diseases.
About the special issue
The theme of this special issue is ‘Novel Strategies for Malaria Control.’
For the first time in decades, WHO reports that there is a real prospect of malaria elimination in Africa. Huge gains have been made in endemic areas through the use of longlasting insecticide treated nets (LLINs) and artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs), but vector and parasite resistance, respectively, threaten to undermine and perhaps even reverse these gains.
It follows that now, as never before, there is a need for novel strategies for malaria control, and this is the focus of this special issue. We will consider all papers addressing any aspect of malaria or malaria vector reduction, but we particularly welcome papers that propose affordable, sustainable and environmentally friendly strategies that can be easily integrated into existing malaria control activities.
Please take the time to study our Guidelines for Authors, and prepare to send us your submission now.
